Soul Food House

A fantastic find in Tokyo. Authentic soul food in a relaxing atmosphere with friendly, helpful hosts. The food is freshly prepared, is high quality and tastes delicious. I visited Japan for two weeks and this was the best meal I enjoyed during my stay in the country. It was great to find good American food for a change of pace from the usual Japanese fare. The owner and chef husband and wife team came out and greeted us and spent time talking with us. They are genuinely nice people who went to Japan and wound up staying and opening a restaurant that is doing very well.I had the chicken waffle which had tasty, tender chicken perfectly cooked on a flavorful, fluffy waffle. The carrot cake was moist and tasty complemented with rich vanilla ice cream. This is a great Restaurant if you want some delicious food and American cuisine. I highly recommend Soul Food House.

Love this place. Food is excellent. Hospitality is of southern quality. Experience is like none other. Most authentic place for great food in Tokyo.

This place was exactly the taste of home I needed! Family-friendly atmosphere was so inviting, as if you were having dinner in their home. I’m from the deep south in the US, and this food was better than some of the soul/comfort food back home. We ate every bite, and we’re already planning our next visit! If you’ve ever wanted to try southern comfort food or you’re from the south and need a taste of home, Soul Food House is the perfect spot!

Where does one even start with this place? It felt more like being at a friends house, atmosphere is very homely and the owners are incredible and make you feel absolutely welcomed. I made a reservation for one at 8pm, there were a lot of groups so it took a while to find space to sit me which wasn’t an issue thanks to the complementary drink. The food was incredible, from the ribs to the Mac and cheese to the fries. If you love soul food & you happen to find yourself in Tokyo then soul food house is a must.

An authentic soul food restaurant in Azabu! A cozy atmosphere will welcome you.Their signature chicken& waffles is a must try! What makes this place amazing is not only the food quality but also the friendly staff. I truly recommend this place!

Went on Friday night without reservation, luckily was able to get in after 30mins waiting (which was quite fast). The food came out 1hour after waiting, but it was great! Enjoyed the food and cozy ambience, but looking forward for the store improvement in the future

The Soul Food House in Azabu Juban serves up some of the best American Southern food around and we are lucky to have it in Tokyo. Awesome food and good ole Southern hospitality is what you get here (and some innovative killer cocktails as well!) The love is in the food and in the soul of the people behind this place. If you’re missing some good ole soul food and needing a taste of the South, THIS is the place you need to hit up. Definitely get the chicken and waffles, but everything on the menu is worth getting. My personal favorite is the Country fried steak with mac n’ cheese on the side.Soul food house is a place I can’t get enough of and is a must if you are serious about good food.

Great atmosphere... great vibe... great food.... if you miss home then come on down the Soul Food House... this place is a must visit!!!
